I have been designing and developing salmon quality control programs for fishermen and processors for more than 15 years. The program that drives quality requirements for this dedicated fleet of fishermen is second to none in Bristol Bay.

Specialists verify strict quality standards each time a boat delivers its catch. If the vessel’s salmon fall short of any of our quality criteria, they don’t earn the “Best Fish” designation for that delivery. Only the best fillets are then hand selected, vacuum sealed, and flash frozen for Pride of Bristol Bay customers. This attention to detail is your assurance that you’ll be serving your friends and family the very finest wild sockeye salmon.

Why our fish?

Vibrant, red flesh teeming with rich, natural, flavor that reveals the true meaning of our name; PRIDE OF BRISTOL BAY

Our wild Bristol Bay sockeye salmon are harvested by a select group of fishermen whose strict fishing and handling practices guarantee you an unprecedented level of quality. We know you are going to love our fish.

Every salmon we catch is bled immediately after being removed from our nets, then submerged in 33 degree circulating seawater. This guarantees unblemished, rich-tasting, firm flesh – wild salmon at its absolute best! Filleted, flash-frozen and vacuum-sealed, our fish will amaze your family and friends for months.

How about nutrition?

Wild Bristol Bay sockeye salmon are among the purest of all ocean fish, consistently testing free of contaminants. They’re also known as the vegetarians of the salmon world, because their diet consists not of other fish, but krill, plankton and algae. They consume a great deal of astaxanthin, a natural carotenoid found in microalgae and krill. In addition to lending sockeye their famous, deep red color, astaxanthin is a health and longevity powerhouse, up to 100 times more effective than Vitamin E at quenching ‘free radicals’.

A four-ounce portion of Pride of Bristol Bay salmon contains 25 grams of protein, about 50% of your recommended daily protein requirement.

That same serving – off your grill or out of your oven – deliver 80% of your recommended daily value of vitamin B-12, crucial for blood cell formation and peak brain function. It also provides your full daily complement of the omega-3 fatty acid known as DHA, which helps protect against heart disease, lowers cholesterol levels and may help slow Alzheimer’s.

After controlling for factors like age, sex and lifestyle, researchers have found that, on average, adults with the highest blood levels of omega-3 fatty acids lived 2.2 years longer. These adults had a 35% lower risk of dying from cardiovascular disease – which is in line with other studies that linking omega-3s to cardiovascular benefits. Higher levels of fatty acids are strongly associated with decreased risk of coronary heart disease and stroke.

Pride of Bristol Bay sockeye is also high in niacin, which assists in hormone formation and may boost your “good cholesterol.” Other vitamins in sockeye salmon include pantothenic acid, folate, riboflavin, thiamin and vitamins B-6, E and A.
